YPIC Organizational Overview
The Yuma Private Industry Council is a private non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide
job seeker and employer services in the Yuma County labor market.
Incorporated in 1988, YPIC serves as the Private Sector partner in the
Public/Private Workforce Development Partnership with the Yuma County
Board of Supervisors. With the advent of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA),
the Yuma County Board of Supervisors designated YPIC as the official
operator or the "one-Stop" delivery system for workforce development
services in Yuma County.
The Yuma County Board of Supervisors
appoints the Workforce Investment Board which is housed in the
organizational framework of YPIC. The Board draws membership from
the community and is made up of representatives from all areas of
the public, private, and non-profit sectors.
YPIC partners with various organizations
and agencies to provide the "One-Stop" workforce development
environment essential for the provision of quality job seeker and
employer services. These partners include:
Arizona Department of
Economic Security (DES),
Arizona
Western College (AWC),
Job Corps,
Portable Practical Educational Preparation (PPEP),
Western Arizona Council of
Governments (WACOG),
Campesinos Sin Fronteras (CSF),
Adult Literacy Plus of Southwest
Arizona, Inc.
Yuma County Library District,
Yuma Elementary
School District #1,
Crane Elementary School District, and the
Yuma
Union High School District.
YPIC is a proud member of the Arizona
Workforce Connection network which provides free services to job
seekers in need of a job search assistance, training, and employment
opportunities. Arizona Workforce Connection

One-Stop Career Centers and web-based information and services
designed to provide individuals with a comprehensive, simplified
service that streamlines all of Arizona's workforce development
programs.
